Absolutely. All our captains are USCG licensed with extensive offshore and catamaran experience.
We're not a classroom. We're real captains teaching real-world skills on your own vessel. You get one-on-one instruction focused on what you actually need to cruise confidently.
We are based out of Charleston, South Carolina. We work throughout the East Coast, Bahamas, and Caribbean. We're always open to discussing special routes or longer passages.

Training Services
Most of the time, training happens on your own boat. This approach ensures you learn your own systems, setup, and handling characteristics. However, arrangements can be made for other vessels if needed.
We provide hands-on instruction on your vessel covering docking, close-quarters maneuvering, anchoring, sail trim, route planning, weather routing, system operation, and preparing for bluewater passages. Training focuses on real-world cruising skills tailored to your experience level and goals.
Training duration is customized to your needs and goals. Whether you need a few days to master docking and systems or extended sessions to prepare for offshore passages, Deepwater Yacht Service tailors the timeline to ensure you gain genuine confidence.
A training delivery combines professional yacht delivery with onboard instruction. You travel with the captain on your own vessel during a coastal or offshore passage, gaining real-world offshore experience while reaching your destination safely. This hands-on approach teaches passage making, weather routing, and safety at sea in actual conditions.
Delivery
